Joining Morris Hayes are original New Power Generation rapper Tony Mosley and powerhouse vocalist MacKenzie, who began touring with the reunited NPG in 2018.
He’s also invited some special guests from right here in Detroit.

Morris Hayes has invited Crescendo Detroit students and faculty, along with acclaimed Detroit musicians Gayelynn McKinney, Maurice “Piranhahead” Herd and Raine Baker, to open the evening with a performance created especially for this night, bringing generations of Detroit talent together on one stage.

What began as a simple masterclass in 2025 grew into a partnership and a special invitation for Crescendo Detroit’s young artists to be part of Morris Hayes’s new show.

Their connection is rooted in a shared belief in music’s power to change lives and in showing young people that, if they can see it, they can be it.
For Morris, it is also an opportunity to give back to a city that played an important role in Prince’s early career.

Now, that shared vision is coming to life onstage.

When the Bonstelle team heard the vision, they wanted to be part of it.
When Morris Hayes stepped inside, he knew the show had found its stage.
Located in Midtown, the Bonstelle is directly connected to the adjacent AC Hotel Detroit through its glass-enclosed Conservatory, placing guests near the heart of Detroit’s arts and entertainment district.

Crescendo Detroit is a free after-school and summer nonprofit program founded in 2013 by Damien Crutcher that builds character and life skills in youth ages 5 to 18 through intensive music, dance, and academic support.
